Sharing my history as a hip-hop musician, with an emphasis on music production and creating rhyme structures for an audience of youth + their support systems.

In April 2024, I was contracted by Portland’5 Department of Culture & Community to lead an interactive workshop for an audience of youth and their families/mentors for their second Youth Night. 

Through this workshop I shared my experience with producing and rapping, including some tips and techniques for them to consider when making their own songs. Afterwards, I shared my process by showcasing a beat that I was proud of, as well as producing a new beat on the spot. 

The workshop culminated with the audience and I creating a song together, which highlighted the importance of using rhyme schemes for consistency, flexibility, or both.
